Their releases have been supported by the most respected selectors in the world, including Gilles Peterson, Nu Genea, Tim Sweeney, Palms Trax, Peggy Gou, Solomun, and Damian Lazarus, and have received critical acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork, the Guardian, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Bandcamp Daily, Resident Advisor, and The Vinyl Factory.

Naya Beat found quick success with their first release, ‘Naya Beat Volume 1: South Asian Dance and Electronic Music 1983-1992', Vinyl Factory’s number one reissue of 2021. They have since released a string of highly acclaimed reissues and remixes. This includes a reissue of Pinky Ann Rihal’s 1985 Hindi New Wave album ‘Tere Liye’ (featured on Bandcamp Daily and described by Test Pressing as “high drama drum machine magic”), a breathtaking Bollywood compilation ‘Awaaz Series 1’ (HHV Records’ best compilations of 2023), and 2024’s ‘Bhangra House Xtc’ featuring Mr. Scruff which received glowing reviews from Resident Advisor and Mixmag Asia. ‘Naya Beat Volume 2’ was among the best reissues and compilations of 2024 and received 8.0/10 review by Pitchfork and was The Vinyl Factory’s number 1 ranked reissue/compilation of 2024 and on Best Of lists from In Sheep’s Clothing, Phonica Records, Juno Download, and KCRW’s DJ & Staff Picks.

In 2023 Naya Beat released two remix projects with disco-jazz legend Asha Puthli. Turbotito & Ragz tracked down the long mythologized original stems and recordings of Puthli's most seminal albums, including ‘The Devil is Loose’, and working closely with Puthli, tasked a series of producers including Dimitri From Paris, Yuksek, Maurice Fulton, Jitwam, Psychemagik, Kraak & Smaak to reimagine her music. Released in 2023, the EP ‘Space Talk: With Remixes By Dimitri From Paris’ is already in its 4th pressing and ‘Disco Mystic: Select Remixes Volume 1’ was named KCRW’s Number 1 Best Reissues, Remixes & Compilations Of 2023 and featured in Resident Advisor, Bandcamp Daily, Mixmag, DJ Mag, The Vinyl Factory and more. The success of these releases has led to a resurgence in Puthli’s career with Naya Beat managing her comeback and headline appearances at festivals like Glastonbury, SummerStage Central Park, We Out Here, and RISING Festival.

Last year’s release of ‘Punjabi Disco’ – a reissue of a lost “holy grail” and the first-ever British Asian electronic dance music album recorded – was Pitchfork's Best New Reissue (8.4/10), the Guardian's 10 Best Global Albums of 2025, DJ Mag's Top Albums of 2025, Juno Daily's Top 10 Reissues of 2025, and Phonica Best Compilations of 2025. It featured as a two-page spread in the Guardian’s weekend edition and topped Juno Records International Bestseller chart.

Their latest offering, ‘PAWA!’, is a mouthwatering collaboration between Asha Puthli and NYC’s punk-chic, discodelic stars Say She She that celebrates feminism and the power of togetherness. It features remixes from Crazy P and Boys’ Shorts. One of the year’s standout releases, the EP has been supported by the biggest names in dance music including Groove Armada, Bill Brewster, Soul Clap, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Colleen Murphy, Gilles Peterson, Greg Wilson, Radio Slave, and Lauren Laverne.

For their forthcoming release, out on October 16th, Naya Beat have given some of dance music’s most exciting producers access to their storied back catalogue. ‘Select Remixes and Reworks 2' puts a South Asian twist on the classic disco 12” format with a selection of new and exclusive dancefloor remixes featuring Thomaas Banks (Psychemagik), Dino Soccio, Turbotito & Ragz, and Woolfy vs. Projections.
